Audrey Wethington

Minnesota

Hi! My name is Audrey Wethington, and I am a 5th-year forward for the University of Minnesota. I recently graduated with a BS in Biology and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences. I do a lot of research at the Visible Heart Lab, focusing on the cardiovascular system, and I am in the process of applying to medical school. I grew up in Edina, Minnesota, where I played youth hockey. I graduated from the Blake School in 2020, where I was a three-sport varsity athlete in hockey, soccer, and golf. During high school, I played for the Blake Bears and the Minnesota Junior Whitecaps. Known for being a versatile and 180-foot hockey player, I have played center, both wings, and even some defense in college. I feel incredibly fortunate to live out my childhood dream of being a Golden Gopher.

I’ve been blessed with many opportunities both academically and athletically, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’ve been able to stay close to home and play alongside my older sister, Madeline. I’m now roommates with my younger sister, Jacqueline, who is a rower at the University of Minnesota. My youngest sister, Adeline, is in high school, and we also have a golden retriever named Beau. In my free time, I enjoy biking, pickleball, hiking, spending time on the lake, slalom skiing, paddle boarding, and reading. Having been a youth hockey coach, I have mentored many young hockey players throughout their journeys, helping them achieve their goals and overcome challenges. My goal as a mentor is to provide the support my mentees need to succeed. I love talking to people, listening to their stories, and offering guidance. I show up to each session with a positive attitude and a readiness to help in any way I can. I would love to get to know you and support you on your journey!
