Averill McCorkle
Colgate
Hi everyone! My name is Averill McCorkle, and I am a senior goaltender at Colgate University from Salem, MA. Prior to Colgate, I attended New Hampton School for two years, then graduated from the Governor’s Academy. In high school, I also played soccer and softball. I’m majoring in Psychological Science, with minors in Educational Studies and Writing and Rhetoric. I have been part of 3 ECAC championships and NCAA tournaments, and 1 Frozen Four appearance where I received the Elite 90 Award. Giving back to the next generation is something I am passionate about! Through my mentorships, I hope to:
Create athletic, academic, and personal goals specific to each individual athlete, and action steps towards achieving them
Inform athletes as to what college coaches look for during the recruiting process and how to make themselves stand out
Teach skills to help athletes stay confident and “mentally tough” in their sport
Develop training and personal habits to help lead athletes to athletic, academic, and personal success
Educate athletes on the demands and dynamics of college athletics
Examine what it means to be a good teammate and leader, and the skills that those titles require
Balancing athletics with academics, career planning, and time for oneself
Take the first step towards your goals, and sign up for my mentorship below!
