Elizabeth DiBlasi
UConn
Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth DiBlasi and I am a goalkeeper on the University of Connecticut (UConn) Women's Soccer team. In the academic field, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology on the pre-medical track. I am from Monroe, Connecticut, and for high school, I attended Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut. At Westminster, I was a Tri-Varsity Athlete and captain, competing in Soccer, Swim, and Track. In soccer, I helped lead my team to the NEPSAC semifinals junior year, and NEPSAC finals senior year, being named the Boston Globe MVP. In swimming, I competed in the 500 freestyle and the 200 IM and helped my team win the NEPSAC Championship my senior year. In track, I competed in the 400, 800, and 4x400 relay, and helped my team finish second in the NEPSAC Championship my senior year while breaking the school record in the 800.
I am excited to be a part of the CGM team because I understand how difficult the recruiting process can be, and I want to help out in any way I can. I didn't commit to UConn until February of my senior year, over a year later than everyone else in my class, and wouldn't have been able to commit if I didn't apply here first. It's important to never give up or lose hope during the process, and I'm here to help you with that. As a mentor, I hope to:
Help you map out short and long-term goals, sport and recruiting-wise
Get to know you personally in order to better understand you and your thoughts during this process
Give you information on training drills, strength/conditioning workouts, recovery tactics, and nutrition tools
Emphasize how important mental health is among student-athletes
Help you out in any way you need!
Throughout my recruiting process, I had support from my friends, family, coaches, and teammates, but I think the best way to help someone through this process is to hear from someone who's done it before, and that person is what I hope to be for you. Sign up below for my mentorship program!
