Isabella Garces
Princeton
Hi! I’m Isabella Garces, a Women’s Soccer Player at Princeton University, studying Politics and International Affairs. I’m originally from Smithfield, Rhode Island, but I spent my early years in Valencia, Spain, where my dad played professional basketball. Growing up in a sports family, I developed a deep passion for soccer and played for NEFC Girls Academy. In high school, I attended Tabor Academy, where I captained the soccer team and earned All-NEPSAC and All-ISL honors.
During my Sophomore year, I chose to stay home during the pandemic to train with NEFC and focus on my goal of playing Division 1 soccer. Despite tearing my ACL in my Junior year, I worked hard to recover and returned to the field at Princeton. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities soccer has given me, including training in London.
My favorite quote is, "He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right," and it’s the mindset I bring to every practice and game.
