Julia Shaunessy
Boston University
Hi everyone! My name is Julia Shaunessy and I am a rising senior on the Boston University women’s ice hockey team. I grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts and went to Duxbury Public Schools until my freshman year of high school when I decided to attend Tabor Academy in Marion. Through my prep school experience I was able to learn how to balance my schedule in order to focus on school and hockey properly, allowing me to get where I am today. I also played soccer and lacrosse at Tabor Academy and won a New England Championship for soccer my Junior year.
I am grateful to be given the opportunity to share with younger generations everything I’ve learned throughout my many years of playing sports at a high level. Through my virtual mentorship, I hope to:
Help athletes properly balance academics and athletics
Give my insight on the recruiting process and help others through theirs
Draw on my experiences and help guide athletes to achieve their goals
Help athletes understand the importance of a positive mindset and grow their confidence
Becoming a collegiate athlete can be a daunting task but I hope with my experience and insight I can help others obtain their goals and dreams.
