Kirsten Simms
Wisconsin
Hi everyone! My name is Kirsten Simms, and I’m a senior forward on the University of Wisconsin Women’s Hockey Team. I’m currently majoring in Communications and have really enjoyed diving into the field.
I’m originally from Plymouth, Michigan, where I’ve lived my whole life. I started playing hockey at the age of 3 and competed with Compuware’s boys AAA program all the way through 8th grade. After that, I transitioned to girls’ hockey and spent my first season with Little Caesars U16. I then moved to prep school, attending Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney in Rochester, New York, for two years.
For my junior and senior years of high school, I returned home and played with Honeybaked, finishing my youth career back at Little Caesars. Every stop along the way taught me something different. I’ve been fortunate to play under great coaches and alongside incredibly talented teammates, all of which helped shape me as a player and person.
