Lily Hendrikson
Providence
Hey everyone! My name is Lily Hendrikson. I grew up in Edina, Minnesota. I am currently a senior defenseman on the Providence College Women’s Ice Hockey team. Academically, I am pursuing a degree in Finance, and am a part of the student-athlete advisory council, and a business school student tutor. Before Providence, I played hockey and soccer at Edina High School. I was captain of both teams my senior year and won two state championships for hockey!
I am excited to be a part of CGM and to help the younger generation of hockey players! I am eager to work with you as a virtual mention and I hope that together I can help aspiring athletes with:
How to use time management skills to balance and reach your goals in academics, athletics, and socially
What to expect in the college recruitment process and increase your confidence in interacting with coaches and recruiters
How to best transition from high school hockey and college hockey
Increasing your strength and how to use being a smaller player to your advantage (I am 5’2”)
How to become a good leader on your team
Answering any questions about what it is like to play college hockey, and overall nutrition and wellness
Looking back on when I was getting recruited in high school, I would have loved to have a mentor to connect with and ask any questions that come up. It would have been very beneficial to hear from current student-athletes who have been through the process before. I hope I am able to be that resource and provide guidance to anyone who wants to play in college!
